All About Me
I'm a local of Queensland's Sunshine Coast region for all my 30 years having attended Tewantin Primary School and Sunshine Beach High School. I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder when I was six which didn't come as a surprise to my family as my brother and I have our father to point fingers to for passing it on. Despite also being diagnosed with a learning disability as well, I've persevered to enter tertiary education initially in a Bachelor of Science before changing to a Bachelor of Creative Industries: Creative Writing and Publishing in 2019.
I've been an avid reader of fiction and non-fiction for as long as I can remember. My late maternal grandmother affectionately called Babi (shortened form of Babička which means grandmother) was someone who I remember giving me interesting books notably a gem of a pop-up picture book telling a story about a boy who makes a gross burger out of inedible ingredients with the twist being the book is designed to look like the gross burger. If there's one book I could recommend it has to be Edith Pattou who authored an adaptation of a Norwegian folk tale East of the Sun, West of the Moon which I knew as North Child; outside the UK and Australia it's titled East. It's not just the way she has the perspective shift from character to character either putting a different perspective of events or advancing the story. You have a hotpot of genres coming together to create an unforgettable journey of Rose seeking to mend her mistake with the man she came to love. To any gamers reading this the equivalent loot ranking for this book would be God Tier.
Creative writing is my first passion; I've been working on a novel trilogy project for 11 developing the ideas from juvenilia roots through my growth as writer applying what I learn as I go arriving at the present where I am confident I can do right by my ideas. Despite having such a love for creative writing, I am open to writing for different purposes and editing. My studies have introduced me to the challenge of editing manuscripts which is a potential career path I am considering. Currently my focus is developing this website as a hub for my online presence as a professional; however, I am open to short term small writing gigs.
